Abingdon on Thames & Kingston Bagpuize House, Oxfordshire

Steeped in history and dating back to the Saxon era, Abingdon-on-Thames is a quaint, bustling market town nestled on the river Thames just waiting to be explored. Holding claim to ‘the oldest, continuously inhabited town in England’, Stroll around the town and soak in the wealth of architecture, historical treasures, shopping, independent stores and of course the beautiful Thames river.
We will arrive with free time to explore and enjoy lunch before our afternoon house visit.
Kingston Bagpuize House remains a family home. Surrounded by garden and parkland this beautiful early Georgian style house is in red brick with stone quoins, banding and window surrounds. The entrance hall is dominated by the handsome cantilever staircase.
We will have a guided tour of the house on arrival (may be split into smaller groups) and then have free time to explore the gardens as well as a tea or coffee and piece of cake before heading home.
Timings: Leave Leominster 8:00am., Hereford at 8:30am., Ross on Wye at 9:15am. With a stop along the way. We will depart and travel back to Ross 7:00pm, Hereford at 7:30pm and then Leominster at 8:00pm.
Costs: Including travel costs, guided tour of house, entrance to the gardens and tea/coffee with homemade cake £52.00 per person.
