The NEW Literary Tour of Herefordshire holiday includes:
2 nights in a Twin or Double – (you decide)
A spacious, relaxing, comfortable Farmhouse B&B is an ideal retreat on the side of The Black Hill in The Black Mountains – with its own licensed Farmhouse Restaurant set in a 400 year old barn.
Included is a hearty full English Breakfast where you will sample ingredients produced on this very farm, served with a selection of cereals, toast, homemade marmalade and jam with local fruit juice.
Come and find out for yourself what inspired Bruce Chatwin to write on a Black Hill.
Take in a visit to the local hillside churches that have been visited by the likes of Rev Frances Kilvert and William Wordsworth
My own memory of the perfect Herefordshire is a spring day in the foothills of the Black Mountains and finding among the winding hilltop lanes the remote little church of St. Margaret’s where there was no sound but a farm dog’s distant barking. Opening the church door I saw across the whole width of the little chancel a screen and loft all delicately carved and textured pale grey with time’.              John Betjeman
Not only that, we have included a visit to a garden on the grounds of the estate that gave Sir Arthur Conan Doyle the idea for the Hound of the Baskervilles as well as a visit to the largest surviving chained library in the world at Hereford Cathedral and a walking tour around the home of the largest Literary Festival in the World – Hay on Wye.
For only £150 per person (based on 2 people sharing a twin/double room), come and enjoy 2 nights’ accommodation with breakfast each morning and a visit to a garden, Cathedral many local churches as well as a walking tour.
All in some of Britain’s most picturesque and undiscovered scenery.
