Formerly part of the Visit Herefordshire team, Liz Hill says more needs to be done to signpost its attractions and tourist opportunities.
Liz Hill set up “Rural Concierge” two years ago and says she’s never been busier.
20150723_094624Rural Concierge specialises in researching and creating quality sightseeing itineraries and promoting ‘things to do’ in the area.
I’m always amazed by the number of visitors who seem lost when it comes to what to do or where to stay,” she says.
Recent financial decisions affecting the promotion of local tourism have meant that there is now a gap in marketing the county.
Now sadly I see the tourist centre has closed,” says Liz who says there is a huge demand from visitors wanting to explore the county.
Not everyone wants to rely on the internet for information. You can’t beat the experience of dealing with people face to face,” says Liz who has recently set up her business in Hereford Buttermarket.
With the 300th anniversary of the Three Choirs Festival taking place in Hereford this summer, there is expected to be even more demand for information.

She’s now appealing for volunteers who want to help her promote the county.20150722_095220
“I am not being paid to do this,” says Liz. “It’s just a passion of mine and I hope others will join me in sharing their local knowledge and enthusiasm for this wonderful part of the world.”
