WE HAVE POSTPONED THE DATE TO FRIDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER – WE HOPE YOU CAN MAKE THIS DATE!
Brecon & The Eppynt Ranges – The story of the forgotten lands of the Eppynt Ranges.
Following on from our interesting tour of the Religious Sites of Powys, our Guide Rob has tempted us with another area that is practically on our doorstep, but relatively undiscovered.
On this tour we will find out all about the area of Brecon and the Eppynt Ranges.
Eppynt…..the land of the horse…a forgotten upland that has been out-of-bounds to the public since 1940 when the demands of war shattered this Welsh-speaking community. Now rich in biodiversity and pre-historic and historic remains, the Eppynt makes for a fascinating exploration. We will see how the 21st century demand for defence has impacted upon this ancient of landscapes. We will also enjoy unbridled views of the Brecon Beacons and Irfon valley.
We will spend free time in Brecon for lunch.
