Military London – Herefordshire Connections including Hereford Cathedral Choir Advent Service
Tuesday 4th December  – Wednesday 5th December 2018

Day 1: Arrive in central London at midday for free time to buy lunch · Check in at the hotel mid afternoon · An early dinner with coffee at the hotel. We then travel to the Royal Military Chapel, Wellington Barracks for A Service for Advent with Hereford Cathedral, where we will be met by some familiar Herefordshire faces.

Day 2: Breakfast in the hotel at leisure · After check out we meet our Blue Badge Guide, Martin. Starting firstly with a morning coach tour through the Docklands with links to the ‘Canary Girls’ and the largest TNT factory during the War at Brunner Mond Factory in Silvertown. Following this we continue our coach tour through to the Changing of the Guard and then a guided tour of the Guards Chapel (where we were the previous night!). Martin can touch on his past as a Scots Guard with a walk around Wellington Barracks, which has great links to Violette Szabo as the Secret service was based in Queen Anne’s Gate. We end the day with some free time at the Imperial War Museum before heading home back to Herefordshire.

 

Timings: Leave Leominster 7:00am., Hereford at 7:30am., Ross on Wye at 8:00am.  Depart Monday and travel back to Ross 7:30pm, Hereford 8:00pm  and  Leominster 8:30pm.

Costs: Including travel costs, ticket donation, 1 x night Dinner B&B at the 3* Clarendon Hotel in Blackheath and up to 20 single rooms free of supplement and all listed above  £219.00 per person
